Alta High School students targeted with KKK Hoods and Hail Hitlers’.

My son recently got a taste of how people can be hateful and do hateful things without any regard to whom they may hurt.  I’m glad and thankful he called me before he reacted. This is the peaceful approach we decided to take. Please take a moment to read.

Letting go of Emotional Vampires, Time Leeches, and Self-Saboteurs

Ellisbeetle Entertainment has been around since 2008.  It is a fairly new company but it is a smart company. It has international distribution for all its current and future projects which includes music, audio books, novels/short stories, epublishing and recently music videos, documentaries and feature films. These processes were not easy to obtain and we hold these avenues dear.

I have been playing music for 22 years.  Over the past two years I have been approached to work with 15 separate music artist and 2 of which I pursued.   Of the 17 people only 2 actually showed up on time. When I say late I don’t mean 15 minutes. When it gets to be 30 minutes up to 2 hours I know exactly how it is going to turn out. The ones that did show up on time would tend to be  extremely unprepared. From a music standpoint it’s not fair to whomever is taking time out to deal with you and from a business perspective it doesn’t work.

There are, and will be people angry with me, Ellisbeetle Entertainment, and those reliable people I work with  but when does deciding you don’t need Emotional Vampires, Time leeches, and Self Saboteurs in your camp a bad thing.

There are some talented people out there but these days with the artistic playing field changing daily you have to work on being and doing more. Some of us know it, some of us learn it and some of us never will.

For those who are not educated about this subject matter I have provided some links below to help out.

Emotional Vampires

 “Take a Stand!
If you find it hard to get people to keep to a schedule, then simply stand up and walk towards the door and politely usher them out.
Always lay out the time parameters in advance so nobody is left in any doubt that the meeting has a fixed duration.
Do it now! It is hard and to some sounds extreme, but it is your choice. Do you want to manage your time effectively or have the life literally sucked out of your schedule by the time leeches?”

Salieri’s Everywhere

Posted on December 6, 2010 by admin

I recently watched Amadeus for the first time. I had heard of the movie some years ago and was told that it would be something I could relate to. So tired of hearing the conversation of the movie find its way into air every night I decided to take a look.
I knew immediately that there would be some fiction mixed in with storyline and I was completely right but I was not prepared what I experienced in the first 10 minutes of the movie.

I listened and watched but had to stop it at thirty minutes and go to bed so I could take it in. This went on for several nights until I could stomach the remainder of the movie. It was clearly not the music. The music was amazing. I even made sure I turned the Bose speakers up so I could take it all in. Days later when I finally finished the movie I came to the resolution that the more we progress in whatever we do there will be a Salieri. In fact, we live in a world of Salieri’s.

This movie should be a mandatory component for anyone considering the arts. It should be noted that I’m not referring to Mozart or Salieri’s musicianship. The reference is the utmost desire to destroy someone who has something you either do not have or something you want so badly that one would do everything in their power to stop another human beings progress.

I realized that I grew up with Salieri’s. They have plagued my path to my whole life. These little committees that consist people who don’t even play music and making decisions for musicians. College professors eyeballing the new talent that makes it a point to create traps and snares. Friends who say in your face they support you but play you like a board game. I could continue with examples but I’ll let you decide if you can see the movies relevance to your life.

So to all my Salieri’s I know who you are and I know that you are waging an Unconventional (Dirty) War on me. Have a blessed day.

CLINTEL STEED: ARTIST VISUALLY LEADS NEW GENRE

The Encounter 2008 by Clintel Steed

The Encounter 2008 Clintel Steed

Our society demands that we must create descriptive resolutions so most can understand what it is that we do. Therefore, let it be said now and recorded in this medium of digital archiving that Clintel Steed is a genre. He is the visionary lead of (Conceptual Agnostic Compositions) or CAC.

To explain this purpose is to include, but not limited to, nonconforming family lineage, childhood environment, searing life experiences and more in which I am inclined to let Clintel speak of in whatever way he chooses.

Clint has always influenced my music and I’m blessed to have several pieces in my home. Having these pieces continuously push me to create daily. When I’m writing music remnants of is DNA sit on my wall close to me. I’m reassured I am not alone. When I work other things websites, this blog, Ceruladons or Shawn Ambacher another painting is in front of me.
Enjoy Clintel Steed and all he has to offer. Visit his work often and watch part of a genre (Conceptual Agnostic Compositions) be created continuously with each piece created.

Special note:
Since the late 1990′s Clintel Steed’s art has influenced Sam Cosby’s literature, concepts, and music. His artwork formed the original visual basis of CERULADONS Blue Dreams: Rain to Tears created by Sam Cosby. Written by Sam Cosby and Clancy Metzger. The soundtrack, which will be 30+ songs and themes, will have that original artwork embedded in the song files created by Clintel. STAY TUNED!

Watership Down, Richard Adams, Angela Morley and The Ceruladons

Posted on November 11, 2010 by admin

In 1987-88 my junior year in high school Watership Down along with a long stack movies were rented from the video store. Being teenagers we laughed about how stupid it would be. After watching all the other movies we finally got to Watership Down and watched it. I was sold as soon as the music began and voice narrated “Long ago the Great Frith made the world”. Aside from the cartoon itself the music captivated me. What I loved the most was the use of the flute and oboe. I loved the melodies from the beginning to end. It stuck with me in such a way that I searched for five years trying to find the soundtrack. In 2002 when I finally I had it in my hands I listened to it nonstop for a week. I then realized that this soundtrack was a major component in where I was going musically. At the time the story itself was influencing me as well but I didn’t realize it until my series went from The Adventures of Larz and Ellisbeetle and morphed into The Ceruladons.

Later, I began to inquire about Angela Morley who composed the music from the soundtrack. I was very surprised to discover that she helped John Williams with the orchestration of his scores for Star Wars, Superman and The Empire Strikes Back.
I don’t know why this music sets me in a certain mood but when I work on The Ceruladons. I tend to listen to this soundtrack. In fact, most of my notes for the series were written while listening to it. In so many ways Angela Morley set the musical tone for The Ceruladons. I will never meet her to tell her but she will always be Ceruladon to me. I love this music. It is special to me. Sometimes when going over my notes and beginning to fully develop my characters created years ago I can hear the music in my head. If you ever get the chance to listen to it don’t hesitate. If you can‘t seem to find a check for a copy here.

Watership Down Soundtrack

There are several quotes that I tend to remember but this one in particular stays with me:
“El-ahrairah, your people cannot rule the world, for I will not have it so. The entire world will be your enemy, Prince with a Thousand Enemies, and whenever they catch you, they will kill you. But first they must catch you, digger, listener, runner, prince with the swift warning. Be cunning and full of tricks and your people shall never be destroyed”. (Watership Down written by Richard Adams).
